SolidWorks CAD Education and Student Programs
Academic and Research: Engineering professionals, students, and educators worldwide favor SolidWorks CAD software. SolidWorks offers the best tools for designing products of all kinds—from robots to solar-powered vehicles. By learning SolidWorks, students are better prepared to make a difference in a world where future success depends on innovative ideas and technology.
Educators: When you teach with SolidWorks software, you give your students the CAD skills they need for rewarding STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) careers.
Students: Develop the skills you’ll need for a successful career. By learning SolidWorks, you’ll gain vital mechanical CAD, design validation, and data management skills that today’s employers demand.
Researchers: With the SolidWorks University Research License, researchers can access the latest in engineering technology, while communicating with other researchers and industrial users around the world.
Dassault Systèmes, the 3DEXPERIENCE Company, has announced the latest version of the SOLIDWORKS Education Edition to prepare students for STEM jobs.
The SOLIDWORKS community has grown substantially with over 100,000 certified students and educators taking advantage of the training and education tools available. The software is recognised by industry professionals as a valuable learning tool for students in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics subject areas.
SOLIDWORKS CEO Bertrand Sicot, said: “The world needs engineers, innovators, and design leaders. Dassault Systèmes is committed to improving STEM education and bringing those next generation leaders to the forefront.”
Key features of this new edition include teaching guides and lessons plans for the STEM curriculum and libraries of assembly models for competitive teams in FIRST robotics. Design tools have been added to further the ability for students using 3D CAD, Simulation, Product Data Management, Technical Communication and Electrical Design and SOLIDWORKS Simulation Premium has been included for finite element analysis.
Students in SOLIDWORKS certified schools will have the added benefit of being able to use the software outside the classroom for free. Schools themselves also have the opportunity to become Certified SOLIDWORKS Academic Exam Providers so that students can complete the Certified SOLIDWORKS Associate exam.
“Clemson University’s engineering students have contributed to more CSWA’s that any other US university,” says John Minor at Clemson University, a Ceritied SOLIDWORKS Associate. “The General Engineering program at Clemson has provided a solid foundation to prepare students for our global commercial customers.”
